Dr. Geraldine Ong is an attending staff cardiologist at St. Michael’s Hospital. She joined as a Clinician Investigator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. She is an active member of the St. Michael’s Structural Heart Team and Aortic Clinic and is the Interventional Echocardiographic Lead for the St. Michael’s Hospital Structural Heart Program. Her clinical interests include valvular diseases, aorta and connective tissue diseases and echocardiography. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Montreal (Montreal) and completed her Cardiology training at Laval University (Quebec City). She did a Level III Echocardiography Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital (Toronto) followed by an Interventional Echocardiography Fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) and Columbia University in New York (New York) and has completed a Research Fellowship at the Centre de Recherche de l’Institut de Cardiologie et Pneumologie de Québec (Quebec City), along with a Master of Science in Clinical and Biomedical Sciences (MSc) at Laval University (Quebec City). Geraldine’s research activities include participation in Multicentre International Transcatheter Valvular Interventions and Structural Heart trials and Valvular Disease Imaging studies.
